Innovative leave management solution gives restoration specialists an exceptional ROI

The Revival Company speeds up holiday booking and deters absenteeism by implementing LeaveMaster

London, 19 October 2010: Staff at The Revival Company, the UK’s premium nationwide independent disaster recovery company, have been able to spend more time on restoring fire and flood-affected properties and less time on unproductive admin procedures after the company implemented an innovative and time-saving leave and absence management solution at its head office in Oxford.

Wanting to speed up the holiday booking process at its Oxford office and keep more accurate records of staff leave and absence, The Revival Company implemented LeaveMaster, an automated, web-based leave management application. Staff at its head office are now spending substantially less time on holiday administration and the Revival Company’s managers have also been given a powerful tool for tackling absenteeism; giving the restoration specialists an outstanding return on their investment.

“Prior to implementing LeaveMaster, we used a manual system to manage and record leave, but it took staff too long to make and process holiday requests and paperwork was often mislaid,” Jim Herrington, Director of Operations at The Revival Company (UK) Ltd commented. “We decided to implement an online leave and absence management system so that we could keep an accurate record of holidays and sick leave and save time processing leave requests,” Jim added. “We saw LeaveMaster and felt that it offered exactly what we were looking for and we are all now spending significantly less time on holiday admin and mislaid holiday paperwork has ceased to be an issue.”

The Revival Company’s management team are also using LeaveMaster to keep accurate records of staff sick leave, which has enabled them to address the potential problem of staff absenteeism. “By letting employees know about the LeaveMaster system and how we are using it, we hope to minimise the amount of unwarranted sick leave taken by staff,” Jim Herrington explained. “Employees are aware that we are now closely monitoring attendance and absenteeism and we feel that this will act as a deterrent to absence.”

Saleel at Systems Valley, which developed LeaveMaster, commented. “We developed LeaveMaster to save organisations like The Revival Company time and money, so we are delighted that staff and managers at Revival’s Oxford office are booking and processing holidays quickly and efficiently using our fast, automated system.” Saleel went on to point out that: “LeaveMaster frees up staff to focus on core tasks and activities because it takes only half the time for an employee to make a leave request using the application than it does using a traditional paper-based holiday booking system, while LeaveMaster also cuts the time line managers spend on processing leave requests by as much as two-thirds.”

To book a holiday or request time off in lieu using LeaveMaster, rather than filling out a form, an employee simply logs into a web-based application and requests their leave online. This triggers an email to their line manager, who can see at a glance who else is away on the days requested, before authorising or denying the request at the click of a button. Details of all upcoming employee leave is then stored in a leave calendar.

In order to speed up the holiday booking process at its Oxford office and keep more accurate records of staff leave and absence, The Revival Company, the UK’s only nationwide independent disaster recovery company, has chosen to implement LeaveMaster.

Staff at The Revival Company’s head office are now spending substantially less time on holiday administration and The Revival Company’s managers have also been given a powerful tool for tackling absenteeism.

You can read a testimonial from Jim Herrington, Director of Operations at The Revival Company (UK) Ltd, that outlines how The Revival Company have benefited from implementing LeaveMaster here.

In blog posts over the past few weeks, we have revealed how LeaveMaster speeds up and streamlines holiday booking in your organisation, helps you tackle the potentially costly problem of staff absenteeism helps you maintain high levels of productivity and customer and supplier service  and makes it easy for staff to plan and book meetings and arrange to collaborate on projects.

But why not see LeaveMaster’s powerful functionality for yourself and find out how your organisation can benefit from its time and cost-saving features?

Contact us  or call us on 0800 33 456 30 and we will give you a comprehensive demonstration of the power and ease of use of LeaveMaster.  Or click here  to try LeaveMaster for free for 14 days.

In recent posts, we’ve discussed how LeaveMaster automates and accelerates holiday booking, helps you reduce absenteeism  and enables you to manage your resources easily and efficiently

But another key benefit of LeaveMaster is that it makes it easy for staff to plan and book meetings and arrange to collaborate on projects.

Instead of wasting time scheduling meetings or collaborations only to find out that members of staff have booked leave and will be away, employees can use LeaveMaster’s shared leave calendars to see exactly when specific work colleagues have booked leave throughout the year and avoid scheduling meetings or project collaborations at the same time as leave dates.

You can find out more about LeaveMaster’s time and cost-saving features by clicking here.

Implement LeaveMaster in your organisation and you will not only be able to speed up and streamline holiday booking and tackle the potentially costly problem of absenteeism , you will also be able to manage your resources effortlessly and efficiently.

LeaveMaster makes it easy to manage resources and workflows because it gives you up-to-the-minute summaries of employees’ holiday records, including days already taken and days remaining, and shows you at a glance who’s going to be in and out of the office on any working day.

You can maintain consistently high levels of productivity and customer and supplier service by making sure staff spread their holidays out across the year. And you can ensure productivity is not unnecessarily damaged as a result of too many members of staff taking leave at the same time or employees taking more time off than they are entitled to.

You can find out more about the time and cost-saving benefits of using LeaveMaster here.

Because we wanted LeaveMaster to be as simple to use as possible, we’ve made it quick and easy to navigate between LeaveMaster's time and cost-saving features.

Using the Quick Navigation menu on LeaveMaster’s home page or the Leave Management menu that we’ve placed on the left-hand side of the browser, you can effortlessly navigate between invaluable features like the leave status page, the shared leave calendar and LeaveMaster’s automated apply for leave forms.

But why not see for yourself how easy LeaveMaster is to use, by requesting a free trial?

The fit note system is still confusing UK employers, a new study has found.

Launched in April this year, the scheme was meant to reduce absenteeism by replacing the traditional doctor's sick note with an electronic Statement of Fitness for Work that allows doctors to say what work their patients can do as well as what they cannot.

However, according to a study conducted by Healthy Working Lives, an occupational health and safety advice service, many employers are confused about how they should respond to advice given to them by GPs about employees on sick leave. In particular, employers are not sure whether or not absent employees who wish to return to work are able to do so before the date suggested by GPs on the new electronic form.

A more effective way to manage sickness absence could be to implement a leave and absence management system such as LeaveMaster in your organisation, as it establishes an indisputable record of sick leave for every employee including their ongoing Bradford Factor score.

Did you know that LeaveMaster’s automated leave request form includes a half day option?

If you only wish to take a single morning or afternoon off, all you need to do is select the type of leave you wish to take from a drop-down menu, choose the date of the leave from a pop-up calendar, check LeaveMaster’s Half Day box and choose A.M. or P.M. And LeaveMaster’s automated functionality will take care of the rest.

LeaveMaster is packed with useful features and functionality like this. To find out more, click here.

At this time of the year, with so many employees taking time off to enjoy the hot weather, or to go on holiday with family or friends, it can be hard to keep track of who’s currently in and out of the office, and who’s about to go away or come back.

That’s why LeaveMaster’s shared leave calendar is so invaluable, as it gives you an instant overview of all current and upcoming leaves in your organisation.

On an Outlook-style calendar, you can see exactly who is currently away, or is about to be away, in your organisation, and when, either month by month or day by day.

You can also use the calendar’s colour-coded Planner View to see when specific team members or work colleagues have booked leave throughout the year.

But why not learn more about LeaveMaster’s invaluable features?

Not too sure if your request for a holiday has been authorised by your line manager? Using LeaveMaster, it couldn’t be quicker, or easier, to find out.

Simply click on Leave Status and you will be given a complete list of all your leave requests for the current year and told whether each leave has been approved or rejected, or is still pending authorisation from your line manager.

You will also be shown the start and end date of each leave request, as well as the number of days you have asked to take off and the type of leave requested.

To find out more about LeaveMaster’s invaluable functionality, click here.

Did you know that you can use LeaveMaster to book and record any type of leave, not just annual leave or sickness absence, as long it is offered by your organisation?

We can implement LeaveMaster so that employees can use LeaveMaster’s fast, automated system to quickly and easily request alternative leave types such as unauthorised leave, unpaid leave and training leave.

The different types of leave offered by your organisation are displayed in a drop down menu on LeaveMaster’s Apply for Leave page. Staff simply choose the type of leave they wish to take from the menu and select the dates of the leave from a calendar, and LeaveMaster does the rest by automatically populating a form with details of the leave request.

You can find out more about LeaveMaster’s powerful automated features here.
